Usage

Zopiclone 7.5mg is prescribed to patients with insomnia and other sleeping disorders.  Zopiclone relaxes you and allows for longer and better quality sleep through the night.  Zopiclone does this by encouraging an increase in the release of gamma amino butyric (GABA) neurotransmitters which are a natural calming agent, which reduces anxiety and induces sleepiness.  Usually it is prescribed on a short term basis as continued use can result in dependancy.

Dosage

Usually patients are told to take one 7.5mg Zopiclone tablet just before sleeping. They should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. It is best to only use Zopiclone 7.5mg if you have at least 8 hours to sleep as waking earlier can leave you drowsy.  Do not exceed the dosage your doctor has prescribed to you.

Side Effects

There is always a risk of side effects when using any medication.  Most side effects are mild and safe, but if you notice any side effects of any kind its worth telling your doctor as soon as possible. Known side effects include:

• Nausea
• Dry Mouth
• Dizziness
• Confusion
• Irritability
• Headaches
• Loss of memory
• Sleep Walking
• Nightmares
• Behaviour or mood changes

Precautions

Zopiclone 7.5mg is not suitable for any patients who are:

• Under 18 years of age
• Pregnant
• Have respiratory failure
• Sleep apnoea syndrome
• Breast Feeding
• Have reduced liver function

You should not operate heavy machinery or vehicles the morning after taking Zopiclone 7.5mg until you are fully aware of how it affects you.  Alcohol can negatively react with this medication causing severe drowsiness, never consume alcohol will under the effects of Zopiclone.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you have an allergic reaction. Symptoms to look out for  which might indicate a reaction are:

• Skin rashes
• Hives
• Swelling of the face or limbs
• Breathing difficulties
• Trouble Swallowing
